Ivory Room (Copy)

A modern Columbus wedding venue that has incredible views of downtown Columbus.

Weddings At The Ivory Room

If the idea of exchanging vows on the sixth floor of a downtown Columbus high-rise, surrounded by panoramic views of the city skyline and the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers, appeals to you, The Ivory Room at Miranova is in a class by itself. Operated by Cameron Mitchell Premier Events — the hospitality group behind some of Columbus's most celebrated restaurants — this 7,500 square foot, U-shaped venue combines a genuinely jaw-dropping setting with food and service quality that consistently draws the strongest reviews of any event space in the city.

Wedding Receptions At The Ivory Room

The Ivory Room's defining feature is immediately apparent the moment you step off the elevator on the sixth floor: floor-to-ceiling window walls on all sides deliver a panoramic view of downtown Columbus, the Scioto River, and the iconic arch bridge of West Main Street that is unlike the view from any other venue in Central Ohio.

The interior design complements the setting without competing with it. The room features hardwood floors, dark ceilings, white walls, and soft elegant chandeliers — a clean, modern aesthetic that photographers describe as resembling a high-end art gallery. It functions as a beautiful neutral canvas that can be styled in virtually any direction, from black-tie formal to contemporary-romantic, without the space fighting your vision.

For reception-only events, The Ivory Room accommodates up to 300 guests. For events that include both ceremony and reception in the same space, the comfortable capacity is 200 guests. The venue is exclusively yours for the duration of your event — no other events are held simultaneously, which means the full attention of the staff is on your wedding from setup through close.

The food and service are what separate The Ivory Room from comparable view venues. Cameron Mitchell Premier Events has been the standard for Columbus hospitality for decades, and multiple reviewers specifically describe the food as the best they've had at any wedding. The team also provides comprehensive event coordination as part of the package — several couples note they didn't feel the need to hire an outside wedding planner because the Ivory Room's coordination was that thorough.

A private bridal suite on-site includes three large vanities with specialized makeup lighting, a private bathroom, and a built-in audio system — a genuine amenity rather than an afterthought.

Wedding Ceremonies At The Ivory Room

The Ivory Room's U-shaped floor plan works beautifully for ceremonies. The north side of the room is the most popular ceremony setup, positioning the couple with the city skyline and river views behind them — creating a backdrop that is simultaneously urban and romantic in a way that's genuinely difficult to find in Columbus.

After the ceremony, guests can enjoy cocktail hour in the adjacent sections of the room or in the building's common areas while the ceremony setup is rearranged for the reception. The staff handles this transition smoothly, and the seamless flow from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception within a single space is a genuine logistical advantage.

One option worth knowing: the venue is located in the same building as M, a Cameron Mitchell restaurant, on the first floor. Some couples use the restaurant space as a pre-event gathering point for early-arriving guests, giving everyone a comfortable and stylish place to connect before the formal evening begins.

Wedding Pictures At The Ivory Room

The Ivory Room's photography opportunities are centered on two distinct environments — inside the venue, and outside along the Scioto riverfront.

Inside, the floor-to-ceiling window walls provide extraordinary natural light during daytime events and a stunning city light backdrop for evening photography. The combination of white walls, dark ceilings, and hardwood floors creates a clean, modern interior that photographs crisply in any lighting condition. The views through the windows make even standard portrait setups look exceptional.

Outside, the Scioto Mile riverfront — including the grass terrace adjacent to the river and the arch bridge of West Main Street — gives your photographer access to some of the most scenic outdoor backdrops in downtown Columbus. The area is walkable from the venue and provides strong variety: waterfront shots, bridge architecture, and the urban energy of downtown Columbus all within a short walk.

The building's exterior and the riverfront promenade work well for couple portraits during golden hour, and experienced photographers who know the area often plan a brief outdoor session to take advantage of the evening light over the river before returning to the reception.

Insider Tips For Your Ivory Room Wedding

A few things worth knowing:

  • The view changes dramatically from day to evening. If your event starts in the late afternoon, you'll experience the room in both natural light and evening skyline glow — two completely different and beautiful atmospheres within the same event.

  • The venue is exclusively yours. No other events run concurrently, which means the staff and kitchen are entirely focused on your wedding. This is something couples who've experienced it consistently mention as a meaningful difference.

  • The evening rental block is up to 6 hours (typically 6pm–midnight). An "all day" block of up to 7.5 hours is also available for events that include a daytime ceremony.

  • Garage parking is available in the Miranova building for wedding guests — a significant convenience for a downtown Columbus location.

  • The Ivory Room offers reduced pricing for January through March events, which can be a meaningful savings opportunity for couples with date flexibility. The views are genuinely beautiful in winter too.

If your wedding guest list is on the larger side — or if you want the flexibility to accommodate almost any size celebration in one location — the Hilton Columbus At Easton belongs at the top of your list. With four distinct ballrooms, 39,000 square feet of event space, and a location steps from Easton Town Center, this is one of the most versatile and complete wedding venues in Central Ohio. It's also simply one of the nicest hotels in Columbus, which matters a great deal when your out-of-town guests are spending the weekend.

Wedding Receptions At The Hilton Columbus At Easton

The Hilton Columbus At Easton is a seven-story, 345-room upscale hotel featuring a Georgian Revival-style brick exterior with a grand cupola — a stately manor aesthetic that makes an immediate impression on guests arriving for your wedding. The hotel was fully redesigned in 2017, and the renovation touched everything from the guest rooms to the event spaces, resulting in some of the most beautifully appointed ballrooms in the Columbus area.

What makes this venue genuinely special for weddings is the range of room options. Whether you're planning an intimate celebration of 80 or a grand reception of 800, there's a space here that fits without the room feeling either cramped or empty:

  • The Easton Grand Ballroom — the largest space in the venue and one of the largest wedding reception rooms in all of Central Ohio, accommodating up to 800 guests

  • The Regent Ballroom — holds up to 300 guests for a seated reception and divides into three smaller spaces, making it ideal for a ceremony in one section and cocktail hour in another

  • The Juniper Room — a mid-size space seating up to 130 guests, perfect for more intimate receptions with an upscale feel

  • The Columbus Room — the newest addition, flooded with natural light, seating up to 80 guests for a reception or 125 for a ceremony-style setup

Beyond the four main ballrooms, there are also over 8,000 square feet of additional foyer and pre-function space available for cocktail hours, post-wedding gatherings, or overflow — giving your event genuine room to breathe.

Wedding Ceremonies At The Hilton Columbus At Easton

The variety of ballroom sizes at the Hilton Easton gives you real flexibility for your ceremony setup. The most common approach is to hold the ceremony in the same ballroom as the reception — typically in a theater-style configuration at one end of the room. Guests then move into the expansive foyer areas for cocktail hour while the hotel staff performs the room flip, before everyone returns to the fully reset reception setup.

HiltonEastonCeremony-2 (2).JPG

For couples wanting to separate the two spaces entirely, the Regent Ballroom's ability to divide into three sections makes it particularly well-suited — you can hold an intimate ceremony in one portion while the reception is being set in another, without the two ever overlapping.

The hotel staff at the Hilton Easton is experienced at managing these transitions smoothly, and it shows. The room flip process is one of those things that can cause stress at less experienced venues — here it's routine.

Wedding Pictures At The Hilton Columbus At Easton

The Hilton Easton gives your photographer a strong variety of settings in a compact area.

Inside, the hotel's grand Roman pillars in the main entrance are one of the most dramatic interior photo backdrops of any Columbus hotel venue — you can see them in the hero image at the top of this page. The renovated hallways leading to the ballrooms have excellent natural light from large windows, making them a favorite for bridal party portraits before the ceremony begins.

Outside, the Easton Town Center is steps from the hotel entrance. The fountains, plaza architecture, and landscaped common areas give your photographer a range of urban and outdoor backdrop options within a two-minute walk. For couples who met at Easton, or who just love the area, this proximity is a genuine bonus.

Insider Tips For Your Hilton Easton Wedding

A few things worth knowing before you visit or book:

  • Don't let the size intimidate you. This is probably the most common misconception about the Hilton Easton. The Juniper Room and the Columbus Room are designed specifically for smaller, more intimate receptions — and they feel appropriately scaled, not like a vast ballroom with too few guests. If your guest count is under 150, one of these rooms may be a better fit than the Grand Ballroom.

  • The staff tenure matters. The Hilton Easton team has an unusually long average tenure compared to other hotel venues in Columbus. That institutional knowledge shows in how smoothly events run — vendors who work here regularly note that the staff is exceptionally organized and proactive.

  • The hotel room situation is a genuine advantage. With 345 rooms recently renovated to a high standard, you can comfortably block a meaningful number of rooms for out-of-town guests without worrying about quality or availability.

  • Easton Town Center is your after-party. Restaurants, bars, and entertainment are all within walking distance of the hotel. Guests who want to continue the evening after the reception ends have excellent options without needing to drive anywhere.

  • The venue is located at 3900 Chagrin Drive near the I-270 and I-670 interchange, which makes it one of the most accessible hotel wedding venues in the Columbus area for guests coming from any direction.

Westin Columbus – Elegant Downtown Wedding Venue

A Historic Ballroom for Timeless Celebrations

If you’re dreaming of a luxurious downtown Columbus wedding, the Westin Great Southern Columbus offers one of the most breathtaking ballrooms in Central Ohio and maybe the entire state. Known as the McKinley Ballroom, this historic space blends timeless architecture with modern amenities for a truly unforgettable reception.

Located in the heart of downtown Columbus, the Westin is perfect for couples who want convenience, elegance, and a guest experience they’ll never forget.

Why Couples Love Weddings at the Westin Columbus

The McKinley Ballroom is a showstopper — stained glass windows, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, Carrera white marble floors, and soaring ceilings create an atmosphere that needs minimal extra décor. Natural light floods the room during the day, while soft evening lighting adds a romantic glow at night.

  • The ballroom can hold up to 300 guests for your reception. Today this classy and elegant ballroom is used to create absolutely magical wedding ceremonies and receptions for Central Ohio couples!

  • Its timeless decor features stunning original stained glass, lots of natural lighting, magnificent floor to ceiling mirrors and windows, and Carrera white marble floors.

  • Having your reception at a hotel offers many conveniences. After your incredible reception, the new couple can retire to your complimentary wedding night suite. Your family and wedding guests from out of town may also enjoy the advantage of preferred guest room rates for the evening.

If you are looking for a beautiful and elegant ballroom for your reception, you simply must visit the Westin Columbus. The staff at this venue is also among the best in Central Ohio.

Wedding Ceremonies At The Westin Columbus

Don’t think for a minute that you can only use this beautiful ballroom just for your reception! The Westin Downtown Columbus can provide everything that you need for your wedding day in-house. In addition to the ultimate reception, you will also have the option of having a beautiful ceremony in the Grand Ballroom or the more intimate Seneca Room.

So if you are considering having your reception and ceremony at the Westin, here is what typically happens.

  1. The ceremony space will be in two-thirds of the ballroom. Your actual ceremony will occur at the front of the ballroom - ie the High Street side of the ballroom.

  2. There is a large section of white draping that the bride and bridesmaids ‘hide behind’. Not only does this hide part of the room from view, but it also makes for a dramatic entrance.

  3. Once the ceremony is completed, your guests will go out to the lobby for the cocktail hour. While this is happening, the staff will begin to change the ballroom over for your reception. During this time the wedding party is often getting pictures taken.

  4. Your guests will then come back into the ballroom for the reception where you can be assured of having a wonderful time for your family and guests.

Picture-Perfect Moments At The Westin Columbus

Photographers (of course brides and grooms) love this venue for its architectural beauty and natural light. Some of the most striking shots include couples framed by stained glass, reflected in the ballroom’s mirrors, or enjoying quiet moments on the grand staircase.

More Insider Tips For Receptions At The Westin Columbus

So if you’re not too tired to hear this for the 100th time on this post, the ballroom is really beautiful. You typically don’t have to do too much extra decor in this ballroom, which is really nice bonus. Having said that, lets start off with some decor thoughts.

  • On the floral side, tall centerpieces work very well in this room with its very high ceilings.

  • We see a lot of soft pastel colors being used in the ballroom. But don’t be afraid of using a bolder and perhaps a bit darker color to make your reception stand apart.

  • If you are considering having decor lighting for your reception, the columns in the ballroom are the perfect focal point. This can really enhance the look of the ballroom.

Finally, here are some thoughts about the actual hotel from the point of view of you and your guests.

  • The actual hotel rooms are unique too. Most hotel rooms are all the same design - very basic. But the Westin is so unique that there is a wide difference in some of the rooms. Some of smaller and actually quite quaint. But others (especially the corner rooms) can be very large.

  • Another nice thing about this venue is that they usually only have one wedding happening at any given time. That means you can almost always be assured of having their full attention. For Saturday weddings, there are typically two time periods available. You can have the ballroom from noon - 5PM or from 7PM- Midnight. You can of course get the ballroom for the entire day.

Wedding Receptions at Vitria On The Square

The Grand Ballroom at Vitria is just incredible. This space has ceilings that soar 24 feet above the dance floor, and even the ceiling is beautiful. This décor adds to the already great design and layout of the space. Pictures don't do it justice.

They have large built in video screens ion the main ballroom. You can use these to show pictures of the couples throughout the night!

In addition to this main banquet space, couples will gain access to the gallery for a cocktail reception. A private space is available exclusively for the wedding party in the Terrace Ballroom, offering somewhere quiet that's away from the bustle of the day.

The Vitria has one of the best cocktail hour areas. Its not only really big (with the usual large windows) but they also have a small balcony area for your guests to enjoy. If the weather is nice, it will be a very popular area to enjoy the cocktails!

Two dressing suites are also available, with plenty of open space and lounge furniture for couples to prepare with their wedding party in luxury.

Wedding Ceremonies At Vitria On The Square

The most popular place for your ceremony is in the main room. You have lots of beautiful natural light that really accents the large ceilings. The pictures that come from this are incredible! Of course its quick and easy to get the guests from the pre-ceremony to the ceremony and then out to the cocktail hour!

Wedding Pictures At Vitria On The Square

Once again, this venue just lends itself to great pictures. The view here is spectacular for both the couple and your guests. Best of all are the sunsets which will bring awesome pictures!

While your reception is at the famous corner of 15th and High, you are only a few minutes walk to The Oval for pictures - or almost anywhere on campus. This is a big bonus for couples that have OSU ties! Time & Change!

After your reception is over, you are not too far from the night life of campus or downtown!

Vitria is not only a beautiful venue, they have an incredible and knowledgeable staffwe were able to be in the moment and enjoy every second.

Decor lighting looks incredible in this ballroom. There are large areas between the windows which really come alive with lighting. Most couples tend to go with a soft white to accent the room, but we’ve seen some bolder colors were there too.

There is a new hotel being built directly behind the Vitria. This will make it VERY easy for your guest to get back to their hotel rooms after dancing the night away!

If you've been searching for a Powell Ohio wedding venue that genuinely delivers on every front — a stunning ballroom, an exceptional outdoor ceremony garden, a highly experienced event team, and a golf course that makes for incredible photographs — Wedgewood Golf & Country Club in Powell consistently earns some of the strongest reviews of any country club venue in Central Ohio. Opened in 1988 and built around a Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed championship course, Wedgewood has the feel of a private estate without the exclusivity — the venue is open to both members and non-members.

Wedding Receptions At Wedgewood Golf & Country Club

The recently renovated Grand Ballroom is the centerpiece of a Wedgewood wedding, and couples who've been there since the renovation consistently say it exceeded their expectations. The renovation preserved the classic country club elegance while bringing the space fully into the modern era — beautiful crystal chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the championship golf course, modern chiavari chairs, and a neutral contemporary color scheme that works beautifully with any wedding palette.

The ballroom accommodates up to 300 guests for a seated reception and includes a generous dance floor, a large built-in bar area, and space for a second bar adjacent to the dance floor — a layout detail that experienced wedding vendors specifically appreciate because it keeps guests near the action rather than migrating away from the room.

One thing Wedgewood does that makes a real difference: they only book one wedding per day. Every member of the staff, every detail of the preparation, and every square foot of the facility is dedicated entirely to your celebration. Couples who've attended weddings at venues that run multiple events simultaneously notice the difference immediately.

The venue also offers a generous selection of in-house décor items available to couples at no additional charge — a detail several reviewers specifically highlighted as a meaningful cost savings. You don't have to bring much in to make this already beautiful space look spectacular.

Wedding Ceremonies At The Wedgewood Golf & Country Club

The Celebration Garden at Wedgewood is one of the most genuinely beautiful outdoor ceremony spaces in Central Ohio — and that's not marketing language, it's what couples and photographers who've worked here consistently say. The garden is set into a hillside oasis with vibrant seasonal blooms, whimsical landscaping, and sweeping views of the championship golf course as a natural backdrop. The circular brick patio provides the ceremony focal point, with lush greenery surrounding your guests on all sides.

Wedgewood Ceremony 2021.jpg

The ceremony space is located immediately adjacent to the ballroom, which means the flow from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception is seamless — guests don't need to drive anywhere or navigate a complicated transition. After the ceremony, everyone can walk directly into the cocktail hour while you and your wedding party are taking portraits on the beautiful grounds.

For couples who prefer an indoor ceremony, the Grand Ballroom provides an elegant alternative with the floor-to-ceiling golf course windows serving as a natural backdrop.

Wedding Pictures At The Wedgewood Golf & Country Club

Wedgewood is a photographer's playground. The combination of the Celebration Garden, the golf course, the clubhouse architecture, and the ballroom interior gives you more variety within a single property than most venues twice its size.

The Celebration Garden is the signature portrait location — the hillside setting, seasonal flowers, and golf course views create images that look like destination wedding photography. The circular brick patio and the surrounding greenery provide strong framing from every angle.

Wedgewood Wedding 2019 - 6.jpeg

The championship golf course extends your portrait options significantly. The rolling fairways, water features, and dramatic elevation changes of the Robert Trent Jones Jr. design create scenic backgrounds that are hard to replicate at any other Central Ohio venue. Photographers who have worked Wedgewood know exactly which holes and which light conditions produce the best results.

The bridal suite is another favorite getting-ready photo location. Multiple reviewers specifically mention the suite's spaciousness and beautiful natural lighting — it's large enough to comfortably fit the full bridal party for getting-ready photos without feeling cramped.

Insider Tips For Your Wedgewood Wedding

Wedgewood Wedding 2019 - 2.jpeg
  • The Celebration Garden ceremony is a genuine outdoor experience — not a paved parking area with flowers added. It's a purpose-built garden space that feels private and secluded even though it's right next to the ballroom. If outdoor ceremonies are important to you, this is one of the best options in the northwest Columbus area.

  • Add the second bar near the dance floor. This is one of the most consistently praised insider tips from couples who've had their reception here. Placing a bar adjacent to the dance floor keeps guests close to the action and reduces the traffic to the main bar — a small detail that noticeably improves the party atmosphere.

  • The bridal suite accommodates your full wedding party comfortably all day. Several reviewers note that having the suite available from early in the morning made the getting-ready experience significantly more relaxed. If hair and makeup are being done on site, plan to arrive early and take advantage of the full day access.

  • Wedgewood is located in Powell at 9600 Wedgewood Boulevard, about 30 minutes north of downtown Columbus near Route 315 and the Columbus Zoo. Several hotel options in the Powell and Lewis Center area make guest accommodations easy to arrange.

  • The golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. — if you have golfers in the wedding party, morning tee times on the day of the wedding are a memorable way to start the day.

Ohio Statehouse Wedding Receptions

For over 100 years, couples were not able to host their wedding or reception at the Ohio Statehouse. It was not until May 2007 that couples were finally given this option. This historic venue is available on a first-come, first serve basis for couples wanting to get married.

Ohio_State_House_9-11_Memorial_2018_6-(2).jpg

Lets just hit the major highlights of this incredible venue. Start with an absolutely gorgeous venue, free downtown parking for your guests, hotel right across the street, beautiful room for bridal party to get ready in, and great locations for photos.

Wedding Ceremonies At The Ohio Statehouse

Quite simply, you can have an incredible wedding ceremony at The Ohio Statehouse.

OhioStateHouseWeddingCeremony2013-1 (2).PNG

The ceremony will take place in the rotunda. Depending on the number of guests attending, your guests will be seated in a circle that mimics the shape of the room. Your ceremony will take place in the center of the room.

You can make a very dramatic entrance into the rotunda by walking down the stairs.

Wedding Pictures At The Ohio Statehouse

So its pretty obvious from looking at pictures here and on other website that this is one of the most beautiful venues. Start with the interior with the beautiful staircases provide great backgrounds for pictures.

The exterior is stunning too, and you are sure to want at least a few pictures of you and your wedding party posing in front of the large pillars at the Ohio Statehouse.

The Statehouse outdoor steps and indoor staircases provided breathtaking photos.

The Inside Info For Your Receptions At The Ohio Statehouse

This isn’t just a historical venue…its THE historical venue for the entire state of Ohio. So it should almost go without saying that there are certain regulations on what sort of decorations and other items are permitted.

The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB), who take care of scheduling, can provide you with a list of preferred caterers. Because of the restrictions involved with using an outside caterer, it is probably best to stick to their preferred catering list. With seven preferred caterers, you have several great options to choose from.

The facilities are open from 7 am-12 am daily, but your guests cannot arrive before 8 am, and everyone must be gone by 11 pm. Clean-up begins at 11, and we’ve never heard of any exceptions. This venue is closed for all events on national holidays as the entire building is closed.

To make your reception even more dramatic, think about having lighting on the pillars. You can customize the color to fit your wedding colors. So you make the room look better and it ties in with your wedding.

Your guest can park for free in the underground garage.

The Ohio Highway Patrol is in charge of security for the statehouse, and will be on hand for your reception. You can’t get much better than that!

You have several hotels (Sheraton Capital Square and The Renaissance Hotel) within a VERY short walking distance from the Ohio Statehouse. Once again this makes it easy for your guests.

But if you look up you will see another of the room's showpiece - magnificent ceiling design that features intricately carved and painted details across the length of the room.

Wedding Ceremonies At The Athletic Club

With such a large wedding space like you have here, you can easily have your wedding ceremony here also.

AthleticClubWeddingCeremony-1.jpg

What usually happens is that the ceremony takes place in front of the white fireplace. They usually have their beautiful gold chairs set up in a theater style that creates a walkway down the center.

Once the ceremony is done, your guests will go into the foyer for cocktail hour and the staff will reset the room for your reception.

Wedding Pictures At The Athletic Club

One of The Athletic Club's most unique offerings is its array of amenities that can be found throughout the club. These distinctive features not only add to the charm of the wedding venue itself but also make perfect spots to capture extraordinary and memorable wedding photos.

So there seems to be two very popular locations for pictures at The Athletic Club, you have the staircase and the bay windows.

Extra Insight For Your Reception At The Athletic Club

AthleticClubWeddingBowlingAllley-1.jpg

If you are looking for something really unique, The Athletic Club has an upscale bowling alley in their basement! Consider having your after party in the bowling alley. Bowl a few frames with your wedding party. The large neon BOWL sign makes for great pictures. And the pictures of everyone bowling is also a lot of fun.

Decor ideas. You don’t need too much to make this already beautiful room look better.

This might be more of a personal option than anything else, but the gold chairs look awesome in the ballroom. It just makes the ballroom ‘pop’ without being too ‘in your face’. Its a very nice touch that comes your booking automatically.

Decor lighting is not often done here because of the dark wood walls. However a custom light monogram makes a strong contrast and helps personalize the space.

Not many people know that the Athletic Club has hotel rooms for rent but its true. There are eight newly-renovated guest rooms are available to rent. This gives the wedding couple the opportunity to provide high-end accommodations to members of the wedding party or family and friends.

The Exchange Wedding Receptions

The Exchange is one of the larger wedding reception spaces in the Columbus area, accommodating up to 500 guests for a seated dinner — which puts it in rare company among Central Ohio venues that can handle truly large wedding receptions without feeling like a convention center.

The interior is contemporary and genuinely striking: hardwood floors, raw stone wall details, floor-to-ceiling windows, and modern chandeliers create a warm, upscale atmosphere that works beautifully both for large celebrations and for smaller, more intimate gatherings. The neutral color palette and open layout function as an excellent blank canvas — couples consistently note how easily the space transforms to match their vision, whether that's a formal black-tie reception or a relaxed, personalized celebration.

The outdoor patio is one of the Exchange's most loved features. Strung with hanging Edison lights and overlooking the Bridge Park neighborhood and Scioto River valley, it's a natural gathering spot for cocktail hour, outdoor ceremony setup, or an after-dinner escape for guests who want fresh air. On a warm evening, it's exceptional.

The AC Hotel by Marriott Columbus Dublin is directly next door — which means your out-of-town guests have premium accommodation within steps of the venue. This is a genuinely significant convenience that takes logistical pressure off your planning.

Wedding Ceremonies At The Exchange

The Exchange offers two solid ceremony options depending on your preference and the weather.

The outdoor patio is the more popular choice and delivers a beautiful setting with the Bridge Park neighborhood architecture, the Scioto River valley views, and the warm glow of the hanging lights above. The ceremony setup flows naturally into cocktail hour on the same patio, while the ballroom is prepared for the reception — making the guest experience seamless and unhurried.

If you prefer an indoor ceremony or if the weather doesn't cooperate, the ballroom itself provides a clean, elegant backdrop. After the ceremony, guests move to the large foyer for cocktail hour — a spacious and well-designed transitional space that doesn't feel like a holding area, but a genuine part of the celebration.

Wedding Pictures At The Exchange

The Exchange gives your photographer a strong variety of settings, and the Bridge Park neighborhood itself extends the options significantly.

Inside, the hardwood floors, raw stone walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows create a modern industrial aesthetic that photographs beautifully — warm, textured, and distinctive. The patio lighting in the evening creates a particularly romantic atmosphere for couple portraits.

Outside, Bridge Park Dublin is one of the most photogenic neighborhoods in the Columbus area. The pedestrian bridge over the Scioto River is a perennial favorite backdrop. The surrounding architecture — a mix of modern residential, retail, and hospitality buildings — provides clean, contemporary framing. Multiple photographers who've shot here note that you can easily get a full range of portrait styles — urban, waterfront, architectural, and green space — all within a few minutes' walk of the venue.

The AC Hotel lobby and common areas next door are also worth mentioning — the hotel's design-forward interior has been used by multiple photographers for creative indoor portraits, particularly in cold or rainy weather.

Insider Tips For Your Exchange At Bridge Park Wedding

A few things worth knowing:

  • Cameron Mitchell's food and service reputation is real. Multiple reviewers specifically mention the food as a highlight of the evening — this is a genuine differentiator compared to venues that rely on external caterers with variable quality.

  • The foyer is large enough for a full cocktail hour and doesn't feel like a waiting area. If your guest count or weather makes the patio impractical, the foyer cocktail hour still works well.

  • The Bridge Park area is excellent for after-party options. Pins Mechanical Co. is about a block away and is a perennial favorite. Multiple bars and restaurants are walkable for guests who want to continue the celebration after the reception ends.

  • The AC Hotel next door takes pressure off your out-of-town guest hotel coordination. Suggest it early in your planning process — it books up quickly for popular wedding dates.

  • The Exchange is located on Riverside Drive in Dublin, which is accessible from I-270 and puts you in a part of the Columbus area with consistently easy traffic and parking compared to downtown Columbus venues.

Greek Orthodox Cathedral

If you're looking for a large downtown Columbus wedding venue that can comfortably handle 500 guests, allows you to bring your own alcohol, offers an outdoor courtyard for cocktail hour, and puts you steps from Goodale Park and the Short North — the Greek Orthodox Cathedral reception hall checks every one of those boxes. Known as Downtown Receptions, this is one of the best-kept secrets among large-capacity venues in Columbus, and couples who discover it are often surprised by what it offers at its price point.

Wedding Receptions At The Greek Orthodox Cathedral

The reception hall is an elegant 6,000 square foot ballroom that accommodates up to 500 guests — making it one of the largest dedicated wedding reception spaces in downtown Columbus. The room features carpeted floors, beautiful chandeliers, large windows overlooking the courtyard, and a built-in stage that works perfectly for a head table setup or as a platform for your entertainment.

The dance floor measures 40 by 50 feet — genuinely large, not the undersized floor that plagues many Columbus venues when a reception gets going. The stage placement directly adjacent to the dance floor means your DJ or band has excellent sightlines to the crowd, and your guests have an unobstructed view of the entertainment.

One of the most distinctive and genuinely valuable features of this venue: you can purchase and deliver your own alcoholic beverages. The built-in bar is yours to stock as you choose. For couples with a large guest list, this can represent a significant cost savings compared to venues that require you to purchase through their bar program at event pricing.

For cocktail hour, the beautifully landscaped courtyard — filled with seasonal flowers and enclosed for privacy — provides an outdoor gathering space that feels removed from the street even though you're in the heart of downtown Columbus. Couples consistently describe it as a surprise — guests don't expect to find a garden like this tucked into a downtown venue.

There is also an on-site gourmet kitchen available for your approved caterer, plus eleven smaller breakout rooms accommodating 25-35 guests each — ideal for a private space for the wedding couple, getting-ready rooms for the wedding party, or a quiet retreat for family.

Wedding Ceremonies At The Greek Orthodox Cathedral

The Cathedral itself is one of the most beautiful Greek Orthodox churches in Ohio, and couples with Greek Orthodox faith can have their ceremony in the church before moving to the reception hall next door — a seamless arrangement that keeps the entire day in one location.

For couples who are not Greek Orthodox, the reception hall and courtyard are available for secular ceremonies as well. The courtyard in particular makes a beautiful outdoor ceremony space, with the enclosed garden and seasonal flowers providing a naturally intimate backdrop. Please confirm ceremony options directly with the venue when you inquire, as arrangements can vary.

Wedding Pictures At The Greek Orthodox Cathedral

This venue's location in the heart of downtown Columbus is a genuine photography asset. Goodale Park — one of Columbus's most beautiful green spaces — is right next door, offering manicured lawns, mature trees, a pond, and natural light that's hard to find in a downtown setting. Photographers who regularly shoot downtown Columbus weddings consistently rate Goodale Park as one of their favorite portrait locations in the city.

The courtyard at the venue itself makes for beautiful evening photography — the enclosed garden with its seasonal blooms and ambient lighting creates intimate portrait opportunities without leaving the property. Several couples mention the courtyard night shots as among their favorite images from the day.

The Short North is also within easy walking distance, giving your photographer access to street art, architectural details, and the energy of Columbus's most vibrant neighborhood if you want a more urban look in your portraits.

Insider Tips For Your Greek Orthodox Cathedral Wedding

Dannelle Wedd-8.JPG
  • The BYOB policy is genuinely significant. At a 500-person wedding, the savings from purchasing your own alcohol versus paying event-venue bar pricing can be substantial. If budget is a consideration, this is one of the most meaningful financial advantages of any downtown Columbus venue.

  • Put a speaker in the courtyard during cocktail hour. This is one of the most practical tips we can offer — the courtyard is beautiful and guests love it, but without music it can feel disconnected from the reception. A simple outdoor speaker setup during cocktail hour keeps the energy flowing and encourages guests to enjoy the space. Any experienced DJ or sound vendor who knows this venue will set this up automatically.

  • Free parking for 80 cars is available on site, with additional parking nearby — a meaningful advantage for a downtown Columbus location where parking can otherwise be a guest experience headache.

  • You're within walking distance of several hotels including properties near the Short North, which simplifies out-of-town guest accommodations significantly.

  • The eleven breakout rooms are an underused asset. Most couples use one or two for the wedding party — but if you have a large family or want designated spaces for different groups during the cocktail hour, there's no shortage of private space available.

Greek Orthodox Cathedral Wedding FAQs

How many guests can the Greek Orthodox Cathedral reception hall accommodate for a wedding? The reception hall accommodates up to 500 guests, making it one of the largest dedicated wedding reception spaces in downtown Columbus.

Can non-Greek Orthodox couples use the Greek Orthodox Cathedral for weddings? The reception hall (Downtown Receptions) is available to all couples regardless of faith background. Please confirm ceremony options directly with the venue.

Can you bring your own alcohol to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral? Yes — one of the venue's most distinctive features is that couples can purchase and deliver their own alcoholic beverages, which can represent significant savings at large weddings.

Is there parking at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral for wedding guests? Yes. Free parking for 80 cars is available on site, with additional parking provided nearby.

What outdoor space is available at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral? A beautifully landscaped enclosed courtyard filled with seasonal flowers is available for cocktail hours and ceremonies. Goodale Park is immediately adjacent to the venue for outdoor photography.

The combination of a 500-guest capacity, BYOB alcohol policy, beautiful enclosed courtyard, on-site gourmet kitchen, eleven private breakout rooms, and an unbeatable location next to Goodale Park and the Short North makes Downtown Receptions at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral one of the most distinctive and value-driven large wedding venues in Columbus.

If you're looking for a downtown Columbus wedding venue that combines dramatic city views, modern design, and genuine versatility in a single location, The Fives has quickly become one of the most talked-about options in Central Ohio. Named Columbus Monthly Magazine's Best Reception Venue (Hotel/Event Center) in 2024, The Fives offers something genuinely rare — the ability to have your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one stunning location, with the Columbus skyline as a constant backdrop.

Wedding Receptions At The Fives Columbus

The Fives has two primary event spaces, and the combination of the two is what makes this venue so flexible.

The Social Hall is the main reception space — a 7,000 square foot ballroom that can hold up to 400 guests. It's characterized by soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and chandeliers made from over 100,000 crystals that create a warm, glittering atmosphere. The hall includes a mezzanine overlook that works beautifully for a grand entrance by the couple, or as a DJ/band platform that keeps the entertainment visible from every corner of the room.

One of the Social Hall's most distinctive features: the overhead glass doors on both sides of the room can be rolled up like garage doors, opening the entire space to the fresh air and city views. On one side is the private patio; on the other, The Reach on Goodale green space. When the weather cooperates, this transforms the Social Hall from an elegant indoor ballroom into a seamlessly indoor-outdoor celebration.

The Terrace is a 5,000 square foot rooftop space that can hold up to 350 guests and features panoramic Columbus skyline views. It can be used for ceremonies, cocktail hours, or as a second reception space. The Fives also offers the ability to combine both spaces for events up to 750 guests — making it one of the few Central Ohio venues that can comfortably handle very large weddings without feeling cramped.

Catering at The Fives is handled exclusively by Together & Company, a Columbus catering company with a strong reputation for both food quality and event coordination. The team is consistently praised for their service and their ability to handle vendor coordination on behalf of couples.

Preferred Wedding Vendors At The Fives Columbus

Wedding Ceremonies At The Fives

The Fives gives you several genuinely impressive ceremony options, all within the same building.

The Terrace is the most dramatic choice — an open-air rooftop ceremony with the Columbus skyline as your backdrop. The space includes a covered, gull-wing amphitheater that is surrounded by lush landscaping and works seamlessly with the Social Hall for a rain-free option. The Terrace doors can be closed for a quiet indoor setting, or opened to bring the energy of the city into the ceremony.

For couples who prefer a fully indoor ceremony, the Social Hall can be set for a ceremony with up to 250 chairs, and the mezzanine provides a natural elevated backdrop that adds drama to the processional. After the ceremony, guests transition to the Terrace or the outdoor patio for cocktail hour while the room is reset for the reception.

One important note for outdoor ceremony audio: the Terrace is elevated and open to the city, which means wind noise is a real factor. Proper ceremony sound equipment — wireless lapel microphones and appropriate speaker placement — is essential for guests to hear your vows clearly. Any experienced vendor who has worked The Fives will know this and plan accordingly.

Wedding Pictures At The Fives Columbus

The Fives offers some of the best wedding photography opportunities of any venue in downtown Columbus — and the variety within a single property is exceptional.

The Terrace at dusk is the signature shot at The Fives. As the sun sets behind the Columbus skyline, the rooftop catches golden light that photographers consistently describe as some of the most beautiful conditions they've worked in. The venue's own team notes that some of the best wedding photos they've seen have been taken from the Terrace at dusk — plan your portrait session timing around it if at all possible.

Inside, the chandeliers in the Social Hall create extraordinary lighting for reception photography. The combination of natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows during the day and the crystal chandelier glow in the evening means your reception photos will look completely different — and equally gorgeous — from start to finish.

Just outside the building, The Reach on Goodale provides immediate access to green space, walking paths, and park scenery for any portrait variety you want beyond the building itself. It's a few steps from the Social Hall entrance and gives your photographer a completely different aesthetic without leaving the venue area.

Insider Tips For Your Fives Columbus Wedding Reception

A few things worth knowing before you book or visit:

  • The garage door windows are worth building your timeline around. If you have them open during cocktail hour and into the early reception, the effect on energy and atmosphere is significant. Experienced vendors who know The Fives will suggest timing this for when most guests are present.

  • The Fives offers non-prime pricing from January through March, which can be meaningful savings for couples with date flexibility. Winter light through those floor-to-ceiling windows is also genuinely beautiful.

  • When you rent The Fives, you receive 3 hours of setup time before your event, up to 6 hours of event time, and 90 minutes of teardown. Plan your vendor arrivals accordingly to take full advantage of the setup window.

  • The venue is located near several downtown Columbus hotels — the Hilton, Westin, and Renaissance are all within a short drive, making guest accommodations simple to arrange.

  • Attached garage parking is available for guests, eliminating one of the more common logistical headaches of downtown Columbus event venues.

If you and your partner have ever imagined a wedding that feels more like a private evening at one of the world's great institutions than a standard ballroom reception, the Columbus Museum of Art is worth a serious look. Located on East Broad Street in the heart of downtown Columbus, the CMA is a four-time Best of Weddings honoree on The Knot — and couples who have held their weddings here consistently describe it as one of the most genuinely unforgettable experiences they could have chosen.

Columbus Museum Of Art Wedding Receptions

The CMA offers two distinct reception spaces, and they couldn't be more different from each other — which is part of what makes this venue so versatile.

CMA-reception-shot---2 (2).jpg

The Schottenstein Property Group Pavilion is the museum's largest event space and the more modern of the two. It features light wood floors, soaring skylights, large windows, and a contemporary design that functions as a beautiful blank canvas for your reception vision. It can hold up to 250 guests for a seated dinner and 300 for a cocktail reception. One of its most striking features is the outdoor glass balcony that overlooks the Patricia M. Jurgensen Sculpture Garden — a stunning spot for guests to gather during cocktail hour or for portraits.

Derby Court is the more intimate and architecturally dramatic option. This is the room with the famous Dale Chihuly glass sculpture and the soaring glass ceiling that floods the space with natural light. Derby Court holds up to 200 guests and is surrounded by the painted ceiling and limestone archways of the Broad Street Lobby, which your guests pass through on entry. Couples who've held ceremonies in Derby Court frequently describe the natural light as something their guests talked about for months afterward.

A third option worth knowing about: couples can also rent the entire museum exclusively, allowing their guests to wander the galleries throughout the evening. Reviews consistently highlight this as one of the most memorable elements of a CMA wedding — guests who aren't typically engaged at a reception will spend the evening genuinely delighted.

The CMA works with an approved list of caterers, giving you flexibility that most Columbus venues don't offer. In-house catering is also available and has received strong reviews across multiple platforms.

Wedding Ceremonies At The Columbus Museum Of Art

The CMA offers several genuinely beautiful ceremony locations, and each one is distinctly different.

Derby Court remains the most popular indoor ceremony choice. The glass ceiling creates extraordinary natural light — reviewers consistently describe it as feeling like the sun was shining specifically on the couple during the ceremony. The room's architecture provides enough drama that you genuinely don't need much additional decoration.

The Patricia M. Jurgensen Sculpture Garden is the outdoor ceremony option, and it's a wonderful one. The garden features a fountain, shaded patio areas, and the kind of green, sculpted outdoor space that photographs beautifully in any season. If your guest list and weather allow for it, an outdoor sculpture garden ceremony is a truly memorable way to begin your wedding day.

For couples who want just a ceremony without a full reception, the CMA offers a 3-hour ceremony-only rental in various museum locations — a relatively rare option that makes the venue accessible for couples with smaller budgets or non-traditional reception plans.

Wedding Pictures At The Columbus Museum Of Art

It's almost impossible to take a bad photo at the Columbus Museum of Art, and experienced photographers know it. The combination of architecture, natural light, art, and exterior details gives your photographer an extraordinary variety of settings within a single venue.

The most iconic shots tend to happen on the grand exterior staircase — both the steps outside on Broad Street and the interior staircase just inside the lobby make for dramatic, elegant portraits. The Dale Chihuly glass sculpture in Derby Court is arguably the signature photo backdrop in the museum — its vibrant colors and scale create images that look unlike anything taken at any other Columbus venue.

The Sculpture Garden provides softer, garden-style photography with the museum architecture as a backdrop — a beautiful contrast to the interior architectural shots. And if you opt for exclusive museum rental, your photographer has access to all fifteen galleries, each with its own lighting character, artwork, and architectural details.

More Information About At The Columbus Museum Of Art Weddings

A few things worth knowing before you visit or book:

  • The venue essentially decorates itself. Multiple couples note that they spent very little on florals or additional décor because the museum's architecture and art do so much of the work. This can be a meaningful cost savings.

  • Tell your guests clearly that they can explore the galleries during cocktail hour and between dinner and dancing. This is one of the most beloved aspects of a CMA wedding, and guests who don't know they're allowed often miss it entirely.

  • The Sculpture Garden ceremony is weather-dependent, so make sure your contract includes a clear indoor backup option. Derby Court is the obvious choice and is just as beautiful.

  • The CMA is located on East Broad Street with several private parking lots adjacent to the museum, plus additional street parking. Several downtown Columbus hotels are within easy walking distance for out-of-town guests.

  • The venue's event team provides day-of coordination support — an included feature that multiple reviewers described as invaluable, particularly for couples who didn't hire a separate wedding planner.

Revery Wedding Receptions

Revery is the largest of the three North 4th Corridor venues, accommodating up to 200 guests for a seated reception and 350+ for a cocktail-style event. The space feels genuinely sophisticated without being stuffy — polished concrete floors, a large art-deco-style bar, and that extraordinary all-glass envelope that lets the Columbus skyline serve as your reception backdrop from every angle.

One of the most talked-about features is the retractable glass roof. On a clear evening, the ceiling opens up to the sky, transforming the space into an open-air rooftop experience. On cooler nights or if the weather turns, it closes to keep everything comfortable without losing the airy, sky-connected feel. Couples consistently mention how much their guests raved about this feature — many said it was unlike anything they'd experienced at a wedding venue before.

The food at Revery deserves a special mention. The venue is exclusively operated by Milo's Catering, a Columbus institution since 1998. Multiple reviewers noted that the food was the highlight of the evening for their guests — not just good for "wedding food," but genuinely outstanding. Milo's builds custom menus for each event, from plated dinners to chef-attended stations to cocktail-style receptions.

There is also a bridal suite on site with mirrors, salon stations, lounge furniture, and a mini fridge — everything your wedding party needs to get ready and decompress before the ceremony.

Wedding Ceremonies At The Revery

Revery gives you a truly dramatic indoor ceremony option. With floor-to-ceiling glass on all sides and the retractable roof overhead, the natural light during a daytime ceremony is extraordinary — and during an evening ceremony, the city lights create a backdrop that photographers consistently describe as one of their favorites in Columbus.

The ceremony setup typically runs along the length of the room, with guests seated on either side of the aisle and the Columbus skyline visible through the glass walls behind the couple. After the ceremony, guests can step out onto the private patio just off the main room — a wonderful spot for cocktail hour with firepit, city views, and outdoor seating before moving back inside for the reception.

Wedding Pictures At The Revery

Revery is widely considered one of the most photogenic wedding venues in Columbus by the photographer community, and it's easy to see why. The glass walls create incredible natural light throughout the day, and as evening falls, the transition to city lights produces a completely different — and equally stunning — set of photo opportunities.

The private patio with its city views is a natural portrait spot, especially at dusk when the skyline begins to glow. Inside, the bar and glass architecture provide strong architectural lines that make for dramatic framing. Many couples also take advantage of the historic Smith Brothers Hardware Building exterior for street-level portraits before heading up to the venue.

The venue is located in the heart of downtown Columbus, putting you within easy walking distance of the Short North, Capitol Square, and other iconic Columbus backdrops for additional variety if your photographer wants to venture outside.

More Great information About At The Revery

A few things worth knowing before you book:

  • The retractable roof is a genuine feature, not a gimmick. If your wedding is in warmer months, plan your timeline to take full advantage of opening the roof during cocktail hour or early in the reception when energy is high. The moment it opens is something guests consistently remember.

  • Sound carries differently in a glass-enclosed space. Make sure your DJ or band does a proper sound check, and consider how music from the reception might carry to the patio during cocktail hour. Experienced vendors who have worked Revery before will know the room.

  • The patio firepit area is a great place to send guests who want a quieter moment during the reception — it's a natural gathering spot for older guests or those who want fresh air without leaving the experience.

  • Parking is free and available on site — a genuine convenience for downtown Columbus.

  • Revery also offers off-peak pricing for winter weddings (November through March), which can represent significant savings for couples with a flexible date.
