The biggest plus for this venue is that they allow you to bring in your own alcohol. This can of course save you quite a bit of money.
There is also a beautiful bridal suite loft upstairs with couches which is really nice for the bridesmaids to hang out at with a vanity and full length mirror. This is available to the wedding party 2 hours before the guests arrive and its a real bonus.

Built to house Columbia Building & Loans Bank in 1912, The Vault is an impressive building that has beautiful architectural grandeur. Original features, including an authentic bank vault, a 100-year-old marble floor, and magnificent chandelier that serves as the room's centerpiece.
The Vault's historical beauty is apparent today, even when your guests cross the entryway. The grand ballroom which can hold up to 300 guests is adorned with 40-foot ceilings and large window archways. The marble stonework continues up the grand staircase leading to a gorgeous light-filled balcony that overlooks the entire event space.

The Sheraton has one of the larger hotel ballrooms in Central Ohio - the Governor’s Ballroom which is located on the second floor.
Just outside this ballroom is a large and nice foyer for your cocktail hour. You can have a grand piano and a large bar in this area for your guests to enjoyu.
The ballroom is quite large as it can hold up to 400 guests. It really is one of the larger ballrooms in Central Ohio.

The Sheridan has the the outside Derby Court which is facing the Ohio Statehouse. Despite being on a downtown street, it gives you a good amount of privacy. This area also makes for a nice cocktail area.

The location is great- in a safe and upscale part of Central Ohio that is conveniently near Easton. There are lots of options for your guests as far as hotel accommodations and entertainment are concerned.
Since many of the receptions are outside and in the tent, you really need to be aware of the weather. It can get cold at night even in the summer so if you use the heaters for the tent, ask to have them turned on sooner so that its warm when everyone moves into that area.

The Fives has two very different locations for receptions. You have The Social Hall which is 7000 square feet and can hold up to 400 guests. This makes it one of the larger reception rooms in Central Ohio.
Then you have The Terrace which is on the top of the building, had over 5000 square feet and can hold 350 guests.
Or you can combine BOTH locations and hold up to 750 guests!
When you have a new venue there is just so many things to talk about. Sure, the tall windows on both side of the room allow a lot of natural light into the room. But for us, the ceilings are the most unique feature. The chandeliers are just incredible.

When having an outdoor ceremony, you need to consider having the proper equipment so that your guests can hear what is happening. We always suggest this. But its even MORE important if you are on The Terrace. The wind noise is almost always enough to overwhelm the soft voices of a ceremony.

When you rent this facility you get the place for 3 hours before, up to 6 hours of time, and then 90 minutes of tear down.

There are several parking lots next to the museum for your guests to use. There are also several downtown Columbus hotels very close by.
There are two main wedding areas at The Columbus Museum Of Art.
The newest location is the Schottenstein Property Group Pavilion. The Pavilion is the largest event space and can hold up to 320 guests for a reception. The Pavillion features a modern design with light wood floors, skylights, and a wall of glass for natural lighting. An outdoor glass balcony overlooks the Patricia M. Jurgensen Sculpture Garden for spectaculars view for your guests. There is also several video options built into this room.
Derby Court features the Dale Chihuly’s glass sculpture with the soaring glass ceiling and can hold up to 200 guests. You also have the beautifully painted ceiling and limestone archways of Broad Street Lobby which your guests will enter from.

The Columbus Anthenaeum Wedding Receptions
This venue was the original Masonic Temple that was built in 1896. It still has most of the beautiful features from that time.
Today, this large building located in the center of downtown Columbus now hosts many weddings receptions and ceremonies every year!
The largest room is the Olympian Ballroom, which can hold up to 900 guests:
It features hardwood floors and elegant lighting of the balcony / ceiling.
What’s really unique about this room is that there is an upper balcony area that overlooks the main part of the room. This gives you guests a great place to have a cocktail hour before them come into the ballroom. It also gives your photographer a great angle for pictures.
The Large Theatre is another very popular room is another large ballroom that is one of the most unique in all of Central Ohio.
The most unique aspect is the high rise seating on the both sides.
There is also a large stage area, which is also quite deep. That can be used as a dance floor, or you can place your head table on it.
There are also some loge boxes on the sides of the stage. These overlook the entire room and can make for some great pictures and very different introductions.

There are plenty of hotel options, restaurants, bars, and rehearsal dinner options nearby. For example the Renaissance Hotel is almost across the street. This is a big cost saving advantage because there’s no need for a shuttle service before/after the reception because everyone is able to walk to and from the venue.
Don't be afraid to choose vendors that are not on the preferred vendor list! They do not force you to go with the list. So if you already have a DJ or cake vendor that you really want to use, that will be fine! Just make sure your vendors are familiar with the Athenaeum and their rules - if they are then you are good to go.

If you love the urban look and feel, you should like that you can do both the ceremony and reception all in one place.
If you have your ceremony outside you can have it in the courtyard. Even though its just outside of downtown Columbus, it will feel very private as it has both an urban and green feel.
Your guests can enjoy a pre-ceremony space of the terrace. You can have drinks for them while they enjoy the city views. If you chose 'The Venue' as our ceremony location, it will be outside in the adjoining courtyard. It is in between two buildings but there is a surprising amount of green space for a unique combination of industrial AND greenery.
This has a wonderful backdrop of the Columbus skyline and is nicely shaded in the evening. They string these gorgeous lights across the garden that give the space a very romantic feel at night.

You can't beat the rustic look or the city-views. This place is it is already so beautiful so minimal decorations needed. You can dress it up, dress it down or do nothing at all and it will look gorgeous whatever you decide. The venue was absolutely beautiful with all the lights on. There is a covered outside area too get some air/chat with guests while the party raves inside.
This place is really popular from spring until mid Fall because of the terrace and courtyard additions.
You can use the outside terrace even later in the year than you might expect. They can supply a heated tent, but it is an extra costs. But you can also use the tent for your ceremony if you’d like.

They do have a lovely lakeside ceremony spot. But with I-270 right there, it can be very noisy, especially for since ceremonies tend to be quieter events. You should have microphones to make your vows heard. Most DJs can supply this for you, but we are not sure if the one that is supplied by the venue can.
The venue does supply a lot of the needed items for your special day. So it makes it easy to ‘check off multiple boxes’ like your wedding cake and entertainment. While this does tend to be a bit ‘cookie cutter’ it does make it easy. If you have a vendor that you really want to bring into this venue you are allowed to do with a very small credit applied to your balance.
The fireplace is the focal point of the room. It looks great if you add some decor lighting to it.
