The ballroom is really quite beautiful so there isn’t a need to spent too much extra monies ‘to make it look nice’. That being said, if you have the room in the budget, decor lighting (especially on the pillars) looks great.

1. The ceremony space will be in two-thirds of the ballroom. Your actual ceremony will occur at the front of the ballroom - ie the High Street side of the ballroom.

2. There is a large section of white draping that the bride and bridesmaids ‘hide behind’. Not only does this hide part of the room from view, but it also makes for a dramatic entrance.

3. Once the ceremony is completed, your guests will go out to the lobby for the cocktail hour. While this is happening, the staff will begin to change the ballroom over for your reception. During this time the wedding party is often getting pictures taken.

• On the floral side, tall centerpieces work very well in this room with its very high ceilings.

• We see a lot of soft pastel colors being used in the ballroom. But don’t be afraid of using a bolder and perhaps a bit darker color to make your reception stand apart.

• If you are considering having decor lighting for your reception, the columns in the ballroom are the perfect focal point. This can really enhance the look of the ballroom.

Finally, here are some thoughts about the actual hotel from the point of view of you and your guests.

• The actual hotel rooms are unique too. Most hotel rooms are all the same design - very basic. But the Westin is so unique that there is a wide difference in some of the rooms. Some of smaller and actually quite quaint. But others (especially the corner rooms) can be very large.

• Another nice thing about this venue is that they usually only have one wedding happening at any given time. That means you can almost always be assured of having their full attention. So the Hilton Columbus Downtown has recently doubled the number of hotel rooms. But they have also recently re-done ALL the older rooms. Your guests will really enjoy these new and modern hotel rooms.

Another addition will be the new rooftop bar in the new addition. It will be the highest rooftop bar in the city and will have incredible views of downtown. This will be a lot of fun for your post-reception party and it will be very easy to access.

As you have seen from the pictures, there are two very popular areas on the hotel grounds to take pictures. The first is the walk way over High Street that goes between the hotel and the Columbus Convention Center. You will always see VERY cool pictures from couples posing there. More Information About At The Pinnacle Golf Club

The actual building is gorgeous with beautiful golf club scenery that the windows (which are pretty much 3 of the 4 walls) look out to, and classy chandeliers with a high ceilings which makes any room more breathtaking.

There are several hotels a short distance away from Pinnacle, just off I-71 exit, for your guests to stay at. This allows them to be very close even though they are not at the actual location.

The decor inside is neutral and it goes with any theme or color pallet you choose.

The ballroom is large and can accommodate almost anything you wish to do for a wedding. It can turn into a romantic and beautiful dance floor at night.

While its not the only room to have a wedding reception in, the Archie Griffin Ballroom is jewel of The Ohio Union. This ballroom also happens to be one of the largest in Central Ohio and can hold over 350 guests!

The Performance Hall is also a very popular room for weddings. While its not quite as large, this has a large stage which overlooks the entire room.

Both of these ballrooms have large video screens that are hidden from view. But if you want to use them for showing off a memory video, it makes it very easy to do so.

The Inside Info For Your Receptions At The Ohio Statehouse

This isn’t just a historical venue…its THE historical venue for the entire state of Ohio. So it should almost go without saying that there are certain regulations on what sort of decorations and other items are permitted.

The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB), who take care of scheduling, can provide you with a list of preferred caterers. Because of the restrictions involved with using an outside caterer, it is probably best to stick to their preferred catering list. With seven preferred caterers, you have several great options to choose from.

The facilities are open from 7 am-12 am daily, but your guests cannot arrive before 8 am, and everyone must be gone by 11 pm. Clean-up begins at 11, and we’ve never heard of any exceptions. This venue is closed for all events on national holidays as the entire building is closed.

To make your reception even more dramatic, think about having lighting on the pillars. You can customize the color to fit your wedding colors. So you make the room look better and it ties in with your wedding.

Your guest can park for free in the underground garage.

The Ohio Highway Patrol is in charge of security for the statehouse, and will be on hand for your reception. You can’t get much better than that!

But of course there is always the inside option for your ceremony which is also really nice. Your ceremony can be in the ballroom. After you’ve Exchanged (get it?) your vows, your guests will be able to go out into the large foyer for the cocktail hour while the staff changes the ballroom for your reception.

The Exchange is located in the Bridge Park area of Old Dublin which will be an awesome area for your guests.

You’ve got newer hotels for them to stay in (The AC Hotel is next door) and there are also many restaurants within walking distance. There are also a few great places for after hours such as Pins Mechanical Co. just a block away. Almost everything your guests could need or want to do is walkable when they are in this area.

The hallway is perfect for a cocktail hour if you don’t want to be on the porch. Its big enough to hold a large crowd without feeling cramped, but still has a cool vibe to it.

The decor is so flexible. You can really make your setup exactly what you want it to be. There was tons of space for some special additions such as a candy and dessert buffet. But it still leaves plenty of room for the actual dinner buffet, the large dance floor, and bars to be easily accessible for any guest.

They also have nice private rooms for the wedding party to get ready, change, use the restroom, or simply relax or whatever your heart desires.

You can start with an elegant 6,000 square foot banquet room that can hold up to 500 guests. There are large windows on the one side that overlooks a very nice courtyard.

The ballroom comes complete with carpeted floors, chandeliers, and a large 40” x 50” oak dance floor.

The ballroom has a unique built-in bar. You can purchase and deliver your own alcoholic beverages - a huge cost savings!

There is a stage that is a good location to place a head table or your entertainment. Its right next to the dance floor for maximum impact and / or viewing.

The Reception Hall overlooks a beautifully landscaped courtyard filled with seasonal flowers. This enclosed courtyard is great for cocktail receptions. Its private while still just steps from the ballroom. Buckeye Sounds, a Columbus wedding DJ suggest that you have your entertainment place a speaker outside during the cocktail hour so that your guests can enjoy music.

There are eleven smaller breakout rooms that can accommodate 25 - 35 people each. These are often used as private rooms for the couple and their wedding parties.
